Honestly so nice to be here without the crowds. Friendly staff. Beautiful scenery and thermal features, plus a pretty bush walk at the end. The pathways are really well maintained. Be aware there are a lot of steps, but they are well proportioned and not too difficult.
This is without doubt one the best geo-thermal attractions we have ever been to in the world. If you only visit one such phenomena in New Zealand, make it this one.
What a surprise! We thought we had already seen the best of geothermal sights in Rotorua but nevertheless decided to spend some time at Orakei Korako, too, on our way to Taupo. So glad we did!
Been past the sign advertising this place many times but always going to or from somewhere. This time we made the effort to drive down from Rotorua.
Came to Orakei Korako on recommendation and was not disappointed. Had researched and found that if you were visiting the venue then you could stay overnight for free.
