If you are patient, you will see many things going off. There are geysers, soda springs and mudpools. A great variety of geothermal activity with lots of pretty colors.
Highly recommended. Being a little bit more difficult to get to, but by no means off the beaten track, Orakei Korako offers a special experience. Starting with a quick ride across the Waikato river the park provides a great walk without the crowds you sometimes find elsewhere.
This is a beautiful spot and well worth the travel to get to. We had limited time in the Rotorua area and we were unhappy about not being able to see the many features particular to this region.
A great attraction! and a nice way to see the geothermal activity, an added bonus of a small boat ride across the lake to visit
I loved loved loved this place. After a visit to WaiOTapu the previous day, I was unsure if we would find another geothermal park worth visiting, but decided we would give it a try, and was so glad we did.
