Magical place, a must do!

Orakei Korako is a little out of the way, but the drive is absolutely worth it. You feel like you've been transported into a world lost since the time of the dinosaurs. This place is a little less busy than the others which allows one time to look at the varying thermal activities without waiting for others to move away. We really enjoyed this place and can't work out why it's not the number 1 thermal site in NZ (if it isn't). Less commercial than the opposition and the river is just beautiful.
