Bridget, a mother of two and a keen hockey player. Bridget's enthusiasm and love of geothermal systems has inspired her to write this book in reply to the many questions that the public continually asked her while working in the field. Currently working for the Auckland Sinter Programme, Geology Department at Auckland Universtiy as a research scientist on New Zealand hot spring deposits, Bridget is also the recipient of a Foundation for Research of Science and Technology, Top Achievers Doctor Scholarship, which she is using to compare New Zealand and USA hot-spring deposits.
Her previous academic achievements include BSC (Geology), Dip. En. Tech. (Geothermal), Heff Allen Memorial Prize, MSC (Geology) 1st Class Honours.
