A hidden treasure

Saturday, 7 October 2017

This geothermal park has been kept as close as possible to nature, with only a well organised wooden walkway taking visitors through the native bush to the many natural treasures including terraces and geysers, and a rare geothermal cave hidden across a lake. There was so much to take in that I wasn't troubled by the 500+ steps (moderately fit 81 y.o) which were well spaced. The whole family voted it the top natural site after Huka Falls we visited in the Rotorua area.
