One of my favorite places to visit in New Zealand

I've been to the Orakei Korako Thermal Park twice in my lifetime. Once three years ago with my son and this year I returned with my mother. It is one of my favorite places to visit in New Zealand. The silica terraces have wonderful colors and the other geothermal features in the park are very unique. Once you arrive, you catch a boat across the river and then begin your wondrous journey. The walkways are well maintained and marked, They even have a red board on the bottom of each step to help the elderly. We spent about two hours, taking our time and simply enjoying the park. The gift shop and bathroom facilities are very well maintained. The place is never very crowded since it is a bit out of the way. However, the Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park should not be missed. The drive to/from the park is nearly as pretty as the thermal park!
